Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mine Production Engineer to join our Mining team at our Obotan Site. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing mine production through effective planning, coordination, and execution of mining activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and cost control to achieve business and operational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and ore delivery activities to achieve production targets.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to production supervisors and operators.

  • Monitor haulage fleet performance and optimize equipment productivity.

  • Promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with environmental and operational standards.

  • Optimize blasting parameters to improve productivity and reduce operating costs.

  • Track production performance, analyze KPIs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare and present production reports and operational performance updates to the leadership as directed by your supervisor.

  • Monitor grade control processes and support ore reconciliation activities.

  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and high performance within the production team.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as Mine Production Engineer in open-pit mining operation with at least two (2) years in senior role.

  • Must have the Minerals Commission’s certificate as a recognized Mine Production Engineer.

  • The Minerals Commission’s certificate in Mine Captain will be an added advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of mining equipment and processes.

  • Budgeting and cost-control experience.

  • Expertise in drill-and-blast, loading, haulage, and ore handling systems.

  • Knowledgeable in occupational health & safety regulations.

  • Must be conversant with the application of the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (703) and related regulations.

  • Hold a valid Ghanaian driver’s license and be capable of driving in rough terrain.
